Wooden Dodecahedronic Chair designed by Japanese design student Hiroaki Suzuki.
Suzuki has been researching functional applications for polyhedral geometry in product design.
He designed his ‘dodecahedronic chair’ with these acute angles using a 3D CAD software, verifying the overall structural strength and stability of the chair by producing models made of paper and corrugated cardboard. Though the seat looks rigid with its numerous hard planes, edges and vertexes, this is not telling of the comfort it brings to the sitter.
When was this made. Seem like seen one long ago.
