The vision for international climate protection is realized in the design of the Green Climate Fund, with facades that are articulated according to building orientation, surfaces that integrate various means of regenerative energy production, photo-voltaic and bio-reactors demonstrate the application of the latest technologies.
The building responds to the site to maximize the experience of its natural qualities. With a design inspired by the beautiful setting in the Rhine valley, and with curvilinear forms, natural light wells, roof top gardens and a large sunken terrace for the restaurant, the three level structures will comply with the latest energy and building ecology standards.
It features ‘environmentally friendly functional spaces that foster working productivity’, state-of-the-art technology, security controls, a visitor reception, auditorium, conference room, a canteen and underground car parking.
The future structure will be situated along the Rhine River within walking distance of several system departments, including the federal ministry for the environment, nature conservation and nuclear safety and economic cooperation and development.
